Question:
I will be starting a new job in a week..
I will be starting a new job in a week and I was wondering how long I should wait before I go to BTC and wait for an answer. Someone told me that I should wait a year before asking because they will say that it is pre-existing. Any help with this matter will be much appreciated. Thanx — Patricia U. I didn't change jobs but had to change insurance and I was waiting for
about 3 months with the ins. co. saying they didn't get this or that (this
was a commercial ins)and I suddenly had to change insurances and it was
approved with the first letter in less than 10 days. (this is an hmo). All
my surgeon did was change the date and address for the ins. co. and
submitted since I already went through the process. Good luck

I hope I didn't confuse you but I had already had all the tests done so all
my surgeon had to do was resubmit his letter with my BMI and results to the
new ins. especially since the old ins. co kept saying they never received
this information. "It must have been sent to the wrong
department." But if you haven't had the consult or test you might just
want to call the ins. co. and ask if they have a pre-existing condition
clause or exclusions. And if they don't ask who you can see for this
procedure. And then call for an appt. because sometimes it takes a while to
get in to see a surgeon. So don't wait. Besides if it does have the clause
it doesn't matter if you wait a year or not atleast find out so you can
think about what to do next.
