Question:
Anyone been hearing anything on Rosane Barr?

Just curious, I know that Rosane Barr had W/L surgery a couple of years ago and I was wondering if anyone has heard how she's doing, what kind of surgery she had or how much she's lost? We hear a lot about Carnie but nothing on Rosane. Thanks, Deb Holder    — Deb H. (posted on January 22, 2002)

Hey Deb, I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that the reason we don't hear anything about Roseanne Bar is because she doesn't want us to. She was never really been open about her having the surgery to begin with. Anything that I've heard, .....which is minimal......has been through little bits and pieces of articles in very few magazines, and that's it. She never denied having the surgery, but she also didn't go out of her way to make it known.

I'm pretty sure she did mention having the Fobi Pouch done while she had that talk show.

I saw her show after she had surgery and she didn't mind talking about it at all, she was very open about it. When has Roseanne Barr been quiet about anything? I also heard she lost 80 lbs. and then quit losing. Maybe she's gaining; if so, we wouldn't be talking about it either. I wonder if she has a website.

One of the only times I saw Roseanne's show was when she had Dr. Fobi on as a guest. I didn't pay too much attention to the show because she quoted a $40,000 bill for the surgery and I assumed that the surgery was only for the rich and famous. I do remember Dr. Fobi and R trying to explain how the surgery works and what kind of foods you have to eat for the rest of your life--to be quite honest, I thought Dr. Fobi and Roseanne were both out of their minds! I was ignorant--I just did not understand anything about WLS. R had lived so much of her life in the spotlight, maybe she just wants to be a mom and be able to go to the grocery store, maybe that's why we don't hear anything her.

I recently saw an hour special exclusively on her on E! To sum it up, she had all kinds of tucks and plastic surgery in her earlier years, including a nose job and tummy tuck. After still remaining at 200 lbs., she had the procedure called the Fobi, which holds only 1 oz. at a time. She looks okay, but I liked her better a little heavier. She always has been a beautiful woman. Also, she recently went thru some personal enlightenment period and says she has calmed down a whole lot, which is good, cause, oh, that mouth of hers. Did you ever see a person who is beautiful until they open their mouth? Then they turn ugly?

HI, I seen Roseanne on the Howard Stern show about 2 weeks ago. I'm almost positive it was a recent show because she had the new hairdo and she was talking about her divorce with Tom Arnold on the phone during the show and she was talking about the new guy. Anyway the woman is thinner than she used to be, but she's still FAT. AND she was munching on a chocolate candy bar the whole time on the Howard Stern show! It's been a long while ago since she had her surgery and I don't really see her losing anymore weight with it because I know her window of opportunity is far gone by now.

Roseanne had the Fobi pouch several years ago, it was well publicized at the time. It might be nice if Carnie shut up....and Roseanne spoke up more. Roseanne had lots of cosmetic work done and she's grown up a lot. She's an attractive woman and while she lost a lot of weight....she isn't skinny. She looks great and I imagine feels great, but she didn't get down to a 6 or 8. Which is more representative of real life experiences. Sometimes i just go hmmmmmmmmmmmm at this site because it seems like everone goes from a size 32 to size 6.....everyone claims to get down to or past their goal. I don't find that in my support group and I don't hear that in other boards. Most folks seem to get results more like Roseanne's and mine.
