Question:
I don't want to invest in new clothes until I reach my goal weight...
And as I am travelling along on my journey, I find myself in need of some size 18-20 clothes, both casual and business, and church clothes. Like I said, I don't want to invest in anything new until I get to my goal weight, so if anyone has anything available, please let me know what, you price, etc. and I will pay the postage, etc. Thanks, sisters. — Annie H. Hi Annie: I too needed clothes for everything. My clothes got WAY too big
really fast. One of my friends suggested that I visit the higher end thrift
shops in my area. MUCH too my surprise I got some killer deals. I have to
dress in business suits about once a week and needed casual clothes as
well. I bought Anne Taylor suits which retail for about $175-250.
depending on what store you shop at, I bought 3 suits for $12. each. They
fit perfect. I looked them over very carefully and they had not one thing
wrong with them. They went directly to the cleaners and when I wear them,
everyone RAVES about how cute all of my NEW clothes are and how great they
look on my SKINNIER body. They have NO IDEA that I thrift store
shop...(tee hee) my little secret. I now spend about $50-75. a month now
and I have 2 closets full of the CUTEST clothes. My friends think I hit
the lottery. I haven't worn the same outfit twice in 1 month....The great
thing is.....when these are too big, I'll give them to my friends or give
them back to the thrift store and get a GREAT TAX deduction for donating
them back....

I hit the thrift stores all the way down and prefer them now. I am wearing
an Eddie Bauer sweater, $1.25. Most of the party dresses on my web site
were under $25 (two were $12) and came from garage sales or thrist stores,
one new, with tags. I have a gorgeous woold gabardine coat, full length,
yummy plum, $1, cuz it was wrinkled. Shall I go on? Support groups here
have clothing exchanges perpetually. There's no reason to go broke on a
size you will wear for 2 weeks! And it is FUN to have a perpetually
changing wardrobe. Personally, I rather enjoy the thrill of the hunt, too.

I have to agree with all the other posters...thrift stores are the way to
go! What a boost to yourself to "treat" yourself to clothes that
fit correctly, even if they are great bargains found at a thrift store. Be
prepared for many compliments...when you wear clothes that fit, people will
REALLY notice your weight loss and how good you look.

My vote is with the thrift stores. I've been going the last month or so to
the local Goodwill. I also have purchased gorgeous brand name things (some
still with tags on) for 3.25 to 5.00 each. My husband went along with me
one day and bought himself a nice leather bomber jacket for like 30.00.
It's in great shape. I am about five sizes smaller than I was when I
started out on this journey and have been very greatful that there are
these sorts of places to get nice cloths without breaking the bank!! I got
some neet housewares and books too btw.

Thrift stores are the best way to go to get yourself something that will
fit and not fall off. I do this with my 13 month old instead she's
growing. I don't like to buy new stuff if your not going to were them for
only a couple of weeks or months. Beside you save A LOT OF MONEY!!! If you
look you'll find almost new to rarly worn clothing and name brands. Once
your down to your ideal weight you may want to conitue to look in thrift
stores, I love them!! Besides there are a lot more smaller sizes so you'll
get a better selection.

There is a "Clothing Exchange" on this site also. Thrift stores
are probably a good way to go also, like the other posters said.

EBAY EBAY EBAY! I have completely replaced my 26/28 wardrobe with 14s --
most if not all designer labels, many still with tags! Check it out! God
bless you for your courage -- It's a tough trip but a wonderful journey!
