Question:
Healthnet, Delta IPA HMO, had the lap RNY 11 mos ago. Now
I am at goal weight. I have at the most 12 pounds more to lose and that would put me at the bottom of my range for ideal. 1.) does anyone know how difficult it is for or simple to get a tt approved (reconstructive, not cosmetic) I heard that if you have a wls, it is fairly simple for approval, but does someone actually know. 2.) Should I lose more weight, I am worried I can go under weight because if I get the tt, I am sure I would hit my bottom weight. Right now with my skin on the bottom of the ab I can lose, but if I lose now then have the tt, ....I hop this is pretty easy to read. It is easy in my head for me to see but putting it in writing is totally different... smile. 11 mos. postop lost 160lbs. thank you all for your knowledge and experience. — Patricia C. I haven't even had my surgery yet, but I'm going to attempt an answer. I
think that if your extra skin is causing you problems, the insurance is
more likely to approve. Some of the problems I've seen are skin rashes and
infections, back troubles because of the extra weight around your middle,
and the extra skin pulling on a hernia. Of course, every insurance is
different, but I'd encourage you to call them and also talk to your surgeon
about it.
