Does anyone know if Medicaid of Indiana will cover WLS,

Yes, Indiana Medicaid does cover the procedure. But ONLY in the state of Indiana. If you are looking for a Dr. in the Northern Indiana area, Dr. J. P. Rivera practices out of Walters Clinic in Michigan City Indiana founded in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, his office is there and that's where he practices. Please feel free to read my profile and email me I can tell you what Indiana Medicaid is looking for exactly step by step. (I BATTLED these guys - I would hate to think that someone else would have to) I can give you the letters I sent in and all of the information that helped me get covered. </p> I am just 2 wks post op now and down over 23 lbs and Dr. Rivera after the initial consultation (this is where he "keeps it real" and breaks it down) was a WONDERFUL surgeon. If you know for sure you are interested I would seek approval soon they are making many cuts in the Indiana medicaid program because of the budget crisis plus IN expects an additional 60,000-80,000 new medicaid recipents this year alone. I don't know anything specifically about this surgery though. Remember if you are denied and it is a covered service you have the right to appeal and have a hearing. You would appeal the denial by writing your caseworker. Good Luck.
