Question:
Do you eat less when wearing tight clothes?
I bought a couple pair of pants, one shrunk a lot and although they are wearable the waist is kinda tight. I think the decreases the amount I can eat and I have unbuttoned the waist band for comfort while eating. Anyone else notice this? — bob-haller (posted on December 14, 2001)

Bob, I notice the same thing! Whenever I have a tighter pair of pants on I
can eat about half what I eat when I wear my baggy house clothing. Maybe
this is a good thing??

I wonder if this could be useful to help get those last 20 pounds or so
off? I once fell on ice and hurt my back bad, I was off work nearly a month
when my family doctor suggested a mans girdle. It wasnt comfy but did help
my back and got me working. Doc said my weight was my backs main problem.
Are their any women who have done this to help the weight loss?

Bob, I have a hernia that I need to have taken care of soon but in the
meantime, I am wearing my binder like the one from the hospital that you
recieved (most likely) after the surgery. I "definately" cannot
eat as much with the binder on. Could that help you lose the rest of your
weight? Probably so if you are in the habit of overeating already but if
you are eating small amounts already I doubt that it will help much and
just make you more uncomfortable.

Barb, wearing my tight pants I get full like I did immediately after
surgery, in 2 or 3 bites. Maybe its mental? Dont know but its curious. I
dont intentionally overeat, but sometimes can eat way more than others.
Maybe the tightness makes me nervous or something, since when in a relaxed
environment I can eat a lot more than other times.

Bob, I have noticed the same thing. When relaxed I certainly eat more
because I think I eat slower. Possibly it gives my tummy more time to
digest food and therefore makes room? I really have no idea but I know
that the same is true for me. Maybe also, wearing tighter clothing makes
the tummy "scrunch" up somewhat therefore making it seem
smaller?

Oh yeah! lol. Does'nt help me much as I just undo my jeans button and lower
the zipper a tad.
