Question:
Does anyone else have a hard time eating a swallowing air while they eat, it is very
painful, is there a way to keep this from happening? — Krista B. (posted on November 30, 2001)

I think the air thing may be that (at least for me) that I am eating too
fast. Surgery 11/12/01 VG. Hope this helps.

I only get that feeling when I swallow liquids too quickly. I'm trying
real hard to slow down and sip, but for most of my life, I've been a
guzzler... This too shall pass... just try to make yourself more conscious
how you eat, and see if there is anything to change.

The only times it happens to me is if I take to big of a gulp of
fluids/food or if I'm full. I use it as my signal to stop. If its from too
much at a time I'm still hungry but wait until the burps stop before I
start eating/drinking again, then I limit the amt and chew better.
