Question:
Has anyone NOT needed to get a tummy tuck?
I'm afraid that I'll lose all this weight and look awful because i won't bne able to afford a tummy tuck or batwing removal. Has anyone not needed this? How much weight did you lose, and how old are you? Thanks! — [Anonymous] (posted on November 8, 2001)

I think it depends on how much weight you lose and where you
carry your fat. Age isn't all that relevant. Most people who
lose less than 100lbs. don't need tt's. Personally, I've lost
110lbs. I still have 30 to go, but my tummy is quite flat and
firm. I really never have exersized so that didn't factor into it.
What mattered most, I believe, was that my weight was evenely
distributed all over my body. I didn't have a "gut". My
boyfriend
lost 75lbs. and he needs a tt real bad. But he had a serious "beer
belly" the fat is gone but all the skin remains. I guess love really
is blind (lol).

That is a good question. I was wondering about this issue myself. Does
the number of years being at a high weight predispose a person for needing
a TT? I have pretty "thick" skin and I am hoping that the skin
will not bag. Does exercising help? How about keeping one self
moisturized? Does that help with the elasticity? I am hoping there are
others that have ended with a flat belly that have since had a large belly
after giving birth and a C-Section with out having corrective surgery.
