I never really thought about that. I still bite my nails and I don't think
I swallow them (????)..if I do, it's not a problem.

I had my Open RNY in March. I still bite my nails. I don't think I
swallow mine either. I doubt it would hurt anything unless you're biting
off LONG nails ;) Mine never make it that far. I wish it could have taken
care of that problem...but nope...still biting:)

I used to be a nail biter until I had all my teeth out and got dentures.
Now I can't bit them!

I've stopped....I certainly never swallowed them! But, prior to
my wls, I was a very shy and nervous person and I was a nail biter.
I'm much more secure now and I don't have the self esteem problems I
once had. I haven't bitten my nails in a couple of years. I didn't even
realize this until I read your post!!!! Thank you. When I was fat my
nails
were chewed to the nub. But, now I get weekly manicures and I have acrylic
nails...my hands are gorgeous.

I was never much of a nail biter. I've recently gotten acrylic nails and
couldn't bite them even if I wanted to. You might consider something like
this if you want to stop biting your nails.
