What is the difference in a regular RNY a Distal RNY and a Proximal RMY

distal and proximal refer to how much intestine is being bypassed (resulting in less absorption of calories and vitamins). Proximals vary a lot, some at 18 inches up to maybe 5 feet. Distals can be up to 20 feet and are more dangerous to your health.

Search in the library section using the keyword "distal" or "proximal" and you'll find many questions and answers about this. Good Luck.
