Welcome to my world!!! Please don't make the mistake I made.
I had my rny three years ago. I'm please with the 100lbs. I lost
but I don't feel that I maximized my weight loss. I'm trying
desperatlly to lose 30 more pounds now.....it would have been much
easier to do two years ago. You have to avoid the compulsion to
eat between meals....my nutritionist calls it grazing. It defeats
the surgery. It also contributes to plateaus. Eat just three meals a
day and limit your carb consumption. The fewer carbs you eat the less
hungery you will be. I'm limiting mine to 50grams a day and I've
noticed a huge difference. Drink ice cold water between your meals. But,
don't drink with meals or 30 minutes after a meal. If you have to snack,
make it a protein...never a carb. Have no fear....you haven't "messed
up".
It's such a big adjustment!!!!!

Hi Karen, you need to ask yourself "Why am I eating when I'm
not even hungry?" Maybe it is because you feel weak or you know you
need to eat, maybe it is boredom, anger, sadness. Once you figure
out if you really shouldn't eat as much as you think you are then
you could find a distraction. Go for a walk, clean, read a book,
make a quilt, find a new hobby. One other suggestion is to write down
exactly
what you are eating. Track the fat, calorie, protein, and carb content.
Maybe
you aren't eating as much as you think you are. You might just be on a
plateau.
Don't be so hard on yourself. I hope this helps. Maybe you could find a
friend
on this site and e-mail or call each other for support if there isn't a
support
group in your area. Good luck.

I am right there too. I am 7 months out and have lost 99 lbs. I have 30
more to go. In the past month I have noticed I am hungry more often and
seem to eat more. I have come too far to screw up now. I am getting back
on track immediately. No snacking between meals and limit my carbs. Thank
you all for your input and thank you for posting this question. It helped
a lot of us.
