Question:
I think I have it covered. Its not cosmetic right?

I finally got health insurance through midwestlife in texas..there is no exclusion in the policy, and the only thing its says is it wont cover cosmetic surgery..That is good news...right???    — [Anonymous] (posted on May 22, 2001)

Absolutely not, WLS is not cosmetic. The requirements are usually a BMI of 35 with co-morbidities, such as heart disease, sleep apnea, gerd, arthritis etc. or a BMI greater than 40. Believe me, if this was cosmetic, no insurer would cover it. Good luck
