I'm waiting to read your respones because I feel that I will probably be doing the same thing. I'm grateful I have a wonderful, loving husband to cling to. Bless you,

*warm smile* Both my husband and I clung more tightly to each other as my WLS surgery date got closer...in spite of a couple of periods of time where we weren't *quite* as closer...we're closer today (one year post-op) than ever before. Your WLS will qualify as one of the biggest stressful events of your life (regardless of "good" or "bad" connotations)...it's just a *huge* thing happening. Cling tightly...and continue to lean on your husband for support...let him be involved. God bless you both.

I was already very nervous and my hubby was wonderful, though he was very afraid of the WLS. Since the surgery, our relationship just seems to get better and better. Maybe I'm just more open to it, or maybe he is just more appreciative after the risks of the surgery....I don't know the reasons, but it has been a wonderful thing for us. And with 56 pounds gone, I have more energy to do stuff with this wonderful man. And the extra curricular activities have gotten a lot more fun, too ; ) ( BIIIIGGG SMIIILLLE) Love to all. Donna in AL

Yes, the closer my surgery date got the closer I got to my hubby. He had been so very supportive and we both had total trust in my doctor, but there was that fear of mine that I might not make it. We did (and still do a lot of cuddling and holding one another, especially during those frustrating moments after having this surgery. open RNY- 3-16-01

My husband is the type of guy who, if he can't fix something he wants to kill it! So I was amazed at how supportive and sweet he was towards me. I know he had his own fears to deal with ,but he never inflicted them on me.We were kissy face cuddle ,cuddle ,cuddle the whole time prior to the big event. Then he was so happy I made it through he continued to be wonderful! Now he is back to his old obnoxious self!!LOL! (just kidding)
