Question:
Is there a list of surgeons somewhere that will accept Medicare?

My surgeon's office said they have accepted their limit of Medicare patients and don't know if they will ever accept more. I am new to Medicare and don't understand why they won't accept it. I am willing to pay whatever it won't. I had insurance under COBRA that had approved me with one surgeon but when I switched surgeons they denied me. I can't appeal as the employer was purchased by a new company so coverage with that insurance ended, My spouse's insurance denied me stating contract exclusion. Before we put me on it I specifically asked if WLS was covered and was told yes if med. nec. My surgeon's office was told the same which is why they sent letter and records. We appealed.
