Question:
had lap band 3 days ago and only my left hand swelling?

Was that the hand the IV was in? I just had my PS and they put the IV in that hand and is a little swollen still a week later.

How bad is the swelling? Is the hand discolored? Is there any pain with it or numbness? Is your hand very warm to the touch? All these could be signs of infection or another problem. If you answered yes, see your doctor ASAP. If no, then elevate and use hot compresses to relieve the swelling.

Was that where you had your I.V.?? If so, they may have pushed fluids into a "bad" i.v. site (or one that went bad) and so the fluids went into the tissue of your arms instead of in your veins. Also it could have something to do with a blood clot, so I would call my doctor a.s.a.p. vixen
