Question:
I have been have more bouts of upper right abdominal pain.
I have had my gallbladder taken out, appendix out, as well as a colonoscopy and endoscopy (in November). I have had a couple of times in the last few days where I have had pain in my upper right side that the only thing that helps is if I put on my binder (i use this very frequently to help prevent)and if my husband squeezes me very tight to put pressure on it. The area is right under my rib cage. Does anyone have any suggestions. I always feel as though as the doctors may believe that I am a drug seeker or hypochondriac. Thank you. — jbekke (posted on February 20, 2004)

it could be the ducts that used to be connected to your gallbladder. i too
have been having upper right side pain and have been through all the test
for gallbladder problems and they all come back normal however my sergeon
is going to take my gallbladder out to see if it helps. Even if you dont
have a gallbladder you can still have pain its an actual syndrome.

You may be full of sh##! Yes, quite literly! My gallbladder came out 10
months post op. But a couple years ago I was having alot of extremly bad
pain on my right side (ribs) and radiationg around to my back. Finally I
had some xrays, and the doctor said I was impacted, or something like that.
I said "do you mean I'm full of sh##"??? This lady doctor is VERY
serious, and she broke out with the biggest, embarasing smile. It was worth
it to see that. lol Anywho, I've always been constipated since I was 16.
Seems, I was "full of it". ;) Anyway, that "might" be
your problem.

I have trouble with bowel obstructions, which cause kind of mysterious
abdominal extreme pain. They are fixable and a potential side effect of any
abdominal surgery (cause by hernia or scar adhesions). But it is CRITICAL
to go to the hospital.
