Question:
Anyone have example letters they gave to surgeon/insurance to help w/approval?

I have my first consult with my surgeon on Tuesday, Dec. 10th, 2002, and was wondering if anyone had example letters of any kind they gave to their surgeon or submitted to their insurance company to help with approval. My PCP is very supportive of my decision and has sent the referral to my surgeon already, but now I want to concentrate on preparing all I need to do for my insurance company. You don't need to do anything for your consultation. The surgeon will send the letter of med. nec. If denied, and hopefully you won't be, then you can send a personal letter. The insurance company doesn't even want to hear from you on the first try. Good luck!
