Yes, I lived on Cream of Mushroom soup, yogurt, cottage cheese and shrimp
coctail for about 3 months. Now at 5 1/2 months I cannot tolerate the fish
or any other meats. Dr. said that was o.k., just make sure I take
supplements and protein shakes, lots of cottage cheese and yogurt and
legumes. I just tried ground beef for the first time and I tolerated it
fine so it will probably make its way into my diet. I wouldn't try ground
beef for a couple of months tho' if I were you. Be patient and let your
tummy heal. We all tolerate things differently, there will be plenty of
time to experiment. By the way I am down 160 lbs and feelin fine.

Hi. 3-1/2 months post-op here. I still can't tolerate meat of any kind
hardly. I just ate a piece of fish last weekend and it put me in the bed
for hours, feeling like a sick dog. Like Danielle said, I can eat a bit of
ground chuck IF it's disguised.....like in with baked beans. Let me just
tell you, I'm eating weird things trying to get back into the groove.
whatever gets the protein in. I'm also depending alot on cashews -- just a
little of them every other day or so. It's a journey, all right. good
luck to you.

Dont panic for sure, and give yourself a break. I didnt eat meat until 6
weeks post op. We are all so different in our healing stages and maybe you
just arent ready for that sturdy of a food. Its ok though. Try eggs and
other proteins to get your daily fix in. It will happen. Blessings to you
on your journey!
