Question:
Will my surgery be canceled By Dr Wongsa for not losing the weight he asked me to lose?
I am having my surgery tomorrow at 7:30 a.m by Dr. Wongsa in houston. I should be thrilled...but I am so scared that when they weigh me and see that I didnt lose weight he wont do the surgery..I am shaking so bad..First I had to battle the insurance company, Why am I thinking the worst..Does anyone know if that will affect anything?? — tylerswife (posted on January 22, 2002)

I am also in Houston. Dr. Ferrari did my surgery - RNY open.
I would think he would tell you up front that if you didn't
loose the weight he wants you to lose before surgery he'd
have to cancel the surgery. This is why we have this surgery
is to lose weight -- I really don't think he will cancel it.
One thing does come to mind though, he just may not want you
to gain any more weight before surgery; therefore, he told you
he wants you to lose weight. You see, lots of us gain quite
a bit of weight between the time we get the 'ok' for the
surgery and the surgery itself. I gained 11 lbs. in a month
and boy, was it fun, but I was ready to quit eating by the
time surgery day came. I also think that if he does that there
would be posts about it on this site, but I've never seen
anything. Good luck, don't worry about him
cancelling on you.
