Question:
Does anyone have b/cb/s of South Carolina? How are they to deal with?

hi 4 years ago i had bcbs of sc and was approved first try to have it done in greenville nc at ecu brody school of medicine hubby got layed off and lost benefits that day so no surgery for me now i have the same insur again and have appt for oct 11 04 so be optimistic and good luck

I too have BCBS of South Carolina. I did not have my bypass surgery through them, but I am trying to get my abdominalplasty approved through them. I went through a plastic surgeon and they took pictures and sent a letter. I had my chiropractor send a letter and my PCP. I was approved for a lipectomy. Then when the Dr's office called to get the authorization codes, they told them that I was approved in error. They were officially denying me due to my plan not covering "cosmetic surgery". What a crock. So now I am appealing it. I am going through my doctor who did the bypass in the first place. I was already scheduled for March 11, 2005. Looks like it may not happen for awhile of ever under BCBS. But I am fighting this tooth & nail. Sorry I couldn't be of more help right now.
