This site is full of helpful information. You can find others that have
your insurance AND have dealt with Dr. Wongsa by following these steps...
Click on "find a doc" at the top of any page. Next click on
"browse the list" and choose Texas. You will get a listing of
surgeons in Texas. Click on "view comments"next to Dr. Wongsa's
name and you will first see an alphabetical listing of insurance companies
that have dealth with this surgeon. If you click on the blue print with the
insurance company name you will be linked to that person's profile and you
can read about their experience with your insurance company (as well as
their progress so far). Also, at the top of their profile is their e-mail
address. Maybe you could e-mail them your specific question. Hope this
helps. May I just add that I know that this waiting is very difficult. But
if your appointment was on Monday, it has only been 4 days. I would give
them a little more time before I would become too impatient. Many on this
site have to wait much longer to get their paperwork submitted. Best
wishes.

Hi, I have aetna HMO and will be having surgery
w/ Dr. Wongsa. I have e mailed many of his patients.I have heard of
nothing but good stuff about him. His nurse is super and she handles most
of the paper work. I don't
think 4 days is long. Like the other poster said they're are people on
this site that have been waiting months and
even 1 year. So.. consider yourself lucky. I do know that
Aetna requires 2 attmpts at WL under a dr. supervsion w/ proof of drugs
etc. and at least a 12 week try on each attempt. For me this is NO problem
I've tried every drug/diet and my PCP gave me the drugs (so there's my
proof.) and also a BMI of 35 w/ co-morbids or 40w/ none.
That's about it. They are one of the easier insurance co.
The only problem I have w/ Wongsa is he only perfoms the surgery at the
Champions forrest area. But hey... that's
a very small inconvineince. Good Luck
