I Know I am jumping the gun here, but I am 5'10 400lbs

Of course it's possible!, That is what WLS is for, to drop the weight. If
you get the surgery, follow your docs exact directions, diet and exercise
wise, I would see no problem with getting to the weight you want. Best
wishes to you!

I think you can do it!!! That is what the surgery is for. It gives you
the right tools to get the job done. I also have AEtna, and am in the
approval process. I hear that AEtna is one of the easier companys to get
approved wtih. Good Luck.

I too am 5'10". I started at 314 pounds on 5/31/00. I'm down to 174
now and still slowly losing. I'd say that it's absolutely positively
something you CAN do! There are people here who have gone from 500+ pounds
to "chart weight", there is no reason you can't also! It does
take work and committment on your part, but it can be done! Good luck!

You should have no problem hitting 200 lbs after the wls surgeon. I have
Aetna PPO Managed Choice. I was denied coverage because I did not send
Aetna proof of medically supervised weight loss attempts. After I sent the
records to them I was approved. Aetna is very good at approving this
surgery if you meet the criteria. Check out their website at
www.aetnaushc.com.

Yes it is most possible. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. My BMI
was 62.7 when I begain, now down to 54. I have lost 57 pounds in less than
2 months. I have many friends over 400 that have reached their goals of
under 150. You can do it!!

I was 426 just a little more than a week ago when I underwent WLS.
I PLAN to hit 180 to 200 Lbs. And I am 5'11". I have been told that
80% loss
of the EXCESS weight is in fact possible, which is why I
did this. Tell your insurance company they can pay now or pay later
when your medical bills add up from being overweight. Usually they
elect to pay now for a one-time solution versus paying later for
a lifetime of problems.

It is very possible. On 8/16/00 I weighed 469 pounds. In one year and one
month I have lost 302 pounds. I went from 469 to 167. I had a distal
open RNY. I have Prudential Healthcare HMO. They were bought by Aetna.
They paid every penny and they even paid for my tummy tuck. The doctor
billed it as reconstructive surgery. Please e-mail me if I can help in any
way.

Hi, I just wanted to tell you, that you can do this. I started out 3 months
ago at 355. I am at a small plateau but I am also down 77 pounds in this
time frame. I was 3 months last Wednesday, I also had Aetna PPO here in
texas, they have a very high approval rate if you provide what they ask you
for. Go for it, and dare to dream. I am very content with my choice. God
Bless, Debbie Nuckolls. :)

YES! It is very possible to get under 200 lbs! I am now 4 months post op
and have lost 146 lbs! Pre-op, I weighed 381 lbs with a calculated BMI of
61. I still average weight loss in the amount of 5 to 7 lbs. per week. My
goal weight is 140 and I know I can reach that! You will reach your goal
weigh too! WLS has changed my life!! Good luck! : )
