Question:
Anyone out there have ideas for extra thigh skin until i can afford plastic surgery?

This may be a strange question but i have lots of hanging skin between my thighs as i still have heavy thighs regardless of excersise and losing 160lbs. But i can't afford plastic surgery right now and was wondering anyone out there have any ideas for dealing with this during the hot summer weather? It gets hot there especially laying in bed at night and if you try to jog across the street they are clapping and jiggling. Any ideas to help with the problem until i can afford plastics?    — Tammy N. (posted on June 18, 2004)

You could get a long leg panty girdle or a tight pair of spandex shorts, I actually do wear the spandex shorts to bed sometimes, and I also wear a long leg girdle, it helps to keep my hanging skin from giggling so much, and they both have a cotton crotch to help obsorb moisture. BTW, congrats on losing the 160 lbs.

I am in the same boat as you. With me I noticed that my weight came off from my head down. Here I am almost two years out and I am finally seeing huge changes in my thighs. They will get small with time but you will probably need surgery. I use Jergans firming lotion, not sure if it works but it makes me feel like I am doing something. As for excercising, I would get the long legged girdles. Also, if get a rash on them from them rubbing together take a picture and go to your doctor. A history of 6 months of irritation and rash might just pay for plastics on them. Good luck 325/150

Spandex bike shorts are great! You can get them at WalMart for $5. Just take my word for it.....duct tape doesn't work.

I second the idea of the spandex shorts - under clothes they really help with chafing. The thing that I have found that "hides" the thighs well are those new sort of bell bottom capri pants for yoga, etc. That is what I'm doing for shorts this summer. Oh, and my swimsuit trick this year is wearing a normal suit, but wearing a pair of long low-rise board shorts over them. Low-rise is pretty flattering, and the long shorts cover the legs. Old Navy has some nice ones, and I also tried out the men's board shorts at Target (don't know if you have those stores by you, but I'm sure any store has something like that). Good luck!
