Question:
I'm 4 weeks post op and I experience dizzy spells.
I get them sometimes when I stand up after having been sitting. And I also get them when I'm doing stuff like grocery shopping, or picking up around the house, and sometimes they just come for no reason. Anybody ever experienced this also? — Shara L. (posted on June 10, 2002)

Sounds like you may have either a case of low blood pressure or maybe iron
deficiency. Have you had labs taken recently? If not, call your doctor and
tell him how you are feeling. The resolution could be something very simple
but left untreated, can make you sick. Good luck and I hope you feel better
soon. Hugs, Kathie (in Hawaii)............

I experienced this two and just around the same time for me it was low
blood pressure and not enough water, soon as I stopped my bp meds and
maintained 64+ oz I'm 100% better.

Hi Shara, I too experience what you describe. Sometimes I can just turn my
head and I get dizzy. I am 4.5 weeks post op. I think it could be from the
drastic reduction in our calorie intake too.

I'm 5.5 weeks post op and I still get dizzy. Last week I stood up and fell
back into the chair I had been in. I think it's because I'm not getting in
enough protein or low blood sugar, but don't know for sure.

I went through this as well and it was right around week 4. I starting
drinking a 1/2 cup of orange or apple juice with a 1/2 cup of water first
thing in the morning and it helped me ALOT. After a few days it sort of
went away on its own. I get the shakes from time to time and I do the same
thing and it helps.
