I found it in Albertson's in the Los Angeles area, specifically the
Hawthorne location.

I can never understand the desire for this product! It isn't the greatest
nutritionally after surgery (is it? I thought I remembered reading the back
thinking it wasn't!?)-granted it does taste good, but if you are looking
for a shake/drink supplement to rely on immediately after surgery-I would
skip the Carnation Instant Breakfast and hit a protein shake instead?!
JMHO!

There is no SUGAR FREE - only NO SUGAR ADDED. It is still kind of high -
but for the first few weeks after WLS, it was a nice change from milk, and
the protein drinks were still too gaggy...

In reference to a previous post, no, it's not exactly a nutritional
bonanza, but I used it quite a bit freshly post-op and it helps to get some
milk in, which has a decent amount of protein. Now, I use it mostly in
addition to protein powder (choc. flavor) to enhance the taste.

Sorry Charlotte, but you are mistaken, and M.A. is correct. There are two
types of Carnation Instant Breakfast. The REGULAR is in the yellow box.
The other kind is NO SUGAR ADDED and is in a blue box. The reason that it
can't be called "Sugar Free" is because it has dried milk in it,
which has natural (lactose) sugars in it. Just like if you look at your
milk carton, you will see in the nutritional information that there are
sugar grams in there. In order for a product to be labeled as SUGAR FREE,
there can't be any type of sugar in it. No sugar added means that no
"extra" sugar was used in making the product.

Hi, I was able to find the No Sugar Added CIB at Von's Pavilions and
Albertson's. I'm in Huntington Beach (Orange County). Most other stores
will consider stocking it if you talk with the store manager and request
it.
