Question:
Has anyone tried NitroTech & MesoTech Bars?
Hi everyone! I am coming up on the beginning of my 6th week post op. I know it is high time I started getting in adequate amounts of protein-- however, ever protein supplement I have tried makes me want to gag-- Isopure powder, designer protien, low carb2 bars, SciFit, etc. I have seen several adds in fitness magazines for MesoTech & NitroTech protein bars & I was wondering if anyone has tried them? They are supposed to be 'mouth watering' but some how I doubt it. Thanks for the input AMOS!! :0) — sgeisendorff (posted on July 31, 2001)

Hi Stephanie,
I haven't tried those, but I have tried the EAS Myoplex Low carb bars and
swear by em; apple, blueberry, lemon cheescake are my favs. Best wishes~

The bars are all harder to get down then the liquid. I tried the ones you
mentioned and found them to be too sweet for me. Almost all the bars are
so chocked full of artificial sweetner (presumably to cover the chalkie
taste of the protein) that I find them really distasteful. After one year,
and lots of protein supplements, I still find the ProComplex works best for
me. It mixes easily with a little bit of water (1/4 to 1/2 cup), and I
drink it down in one or two swallows. Take it just like medicine and don't
even taste it. I take it in the morning as my breakfast, and then again
mid morning or mid afternoon sitting at my desk at work. If I am
physically hungry at work I sometimes take a Solid Protein Bar. It isn't
very sweet. It doesn't have much flavor but it doesn't taste bad. Makes
me feel full...which can be a good thing. Keep experimenting. You'll find
something that works for you.
