Question:
Has anyone had chest pain at less than two weeks post op that wasn't
immediately following their eating? I am 9 days post op & have had chest pains since I started liquids at about day 4- but they are not right after I eat, they develop about 30 min to an hour afterwards. I do have a band around the pouch where it exits the intestine, but surely liquids (soup that has been drained of all particles & applejuice) can't be causing this can they? Thanks guys... Steph,
I suspect you are probably experiencing the same GAS pains I have. I am 4
weeks post op and had some very sharp pains in the upper left quadrant of
my body. Some were centered around my heart and the really sharp ones were
under my rib cage. A nurse friend of mine suggested lying on my left side
to aid in passing the gas. It seemed to help. Of course I couldn't lie on
my left side for a couple of weeks. By all means, this is something you
will want to discuss with your doc. Hope this helps.
