Are you drinking enough water? Really try to get in all the water you can. It sounds like you've just got a dry throat and mouth, which is quite common immediately post-op. And water will help you lose the weight, too.

Being intubated can be a bit of a trauma to the vocal chords as the tube passes through them. Sounds like yours are just a bit "stunned" right now.

I was like that for about 10 days,my throat also hurt. I think it was because of the tube going down my throat.

It's like the others said, it "probally" was that tube. I know I had different sensations from the tube during this surgery.... my jaw cracked alot (right under both ears). It drove me crazy and worried me. And as the other person said, GET YOUR WATER IN! That is extremly important! We can't stress that enough. I had water with me constantly. You will only be able to sip so it will be hard to get much in, so SIP, SIP, SIP constantly. Put a glass beside your bed at night and "EVERY time you wake up DRINK". After a few weeks it won't be so important to drink at night, but for awhile you "will" need it that bad. You're probally feeling like crap right now and wondering if you made the right choice and if the pain will get better. I expect (if you had the open)you will start feeling better in nine or ten days. But the throat problem might be around a week or alittle less. It depends on the person. Hang in there... but hang in there with you water day AND night. lol Best of luck to you.
