Question:
What hospitals and doctors out of Kaiser does this insurance cover in Northern CA?

Hi, as far as I know all Kaiser No. CA surgeries are booked into Kaiser So. San Francisco. I have heard that some Kaiser Northern CA patients are being sent to Pacific Bariatrics in San Diego because they are so backed up with patients at So. San Francisco. The docs at So. San Francisco only do open RNY. I'm not sure if any of the docs at Pacific Bariatric in San Diego do the lap procedure. I don't think Kaiser Northern CA patients actually "choose" if they want to go to So. San Francisco or San Diego. Kaiser is fully in charge of who they offer to send to San Diego since they pay air fare and expenses. Hugs, Joy

Actually, Kaiser South San Fran does do lap RNY. They started about 4 or 5 months ago. I know Dr. Nguyen does it for sure and I also think Dr. Lehga does it as well. There's also Dr. Gorrin and Dr. Meyerowitz. I know Dr. M doesn't do lap. I'm not sure if Dr. Gorrin's doing it yet.
