Question:
Has anyone lost a shoe size?

I am just curious to know if anyone has lost a shoe size due to their dramatic weight loss?    — Tracy S. (posted on June 27, 2001)

I am 9 months post op and I have lost 144 lbs. I started a 10 1/2 W and now I am 8 1/2 regular. That was one of the first things to start shrinking. Its just one of those places you didn't realize was also overweight...

I am one month post op. I have lost a shoe size from 11W to 10W or M. I have never had problems with retenting water, however, I guess so. I went up a shoe size 16 yrs ago with the birth of my daughter.

I am back to my regular 8-8.5, following the steady weight gain up to 9-9.5 W... Love shoes, they always fit, and are easy to shop for!

I not only went from a size 8 1/2-9 to 7 1/2, my ear lobes got smaller! I bought a beautiful pair antique hoop earrings through an online auction about two years before I had my surgery. I didn't realize that they were childern's earrings. When I got them, I couldn't close them. There just too much ear and not enough earring. Well, now I wear them all the time!

I've gone from size 81/2 to size 71/2 in 4 months. I think it has alot to do with retaining less fluid.

Yes, actually, I have. When I had my VBG on June 4th of this year, I was wearing a 8 1/2 wide width. Now....I'm wearing just a plain 8. No wide width. It is amazing!! Just wish it was as noticeable everywhere else!!!Markita

I thought I was the ONLY one who had!! 1 month out and about 35 pounds gone, I dropped from a size 11 to a 10. Never knew my feet were so fat! Now if I can get rid of my chubby cheeks, I'd be one happy girl! Who am I kidding, I'm already a happy girl!!!! Good Luck to you...

I was quickly strutting across a busy street in Philadelphia feelin' like I looked goooooood in my new suit and high heels and I actually walked out of my shoes! There they were in the middle of the street. I had to turn around and get them!

Oddly, no (I'm the weirdo here!). I thought I'd lose at least half a shoe size after losing 111 pounds, but my feet are holding steady at size 8. Rings are another story, though. ;)

Yes Tracey I have lost a least one shoe size! I have never been able to wear women's shoes and it was extremely frustrating. but since my surgery I am now able to find and wear women's shoes, I even found a pair of heels to wear to my daughters wedding. My feet haven't shrunk in lenght but in width.

That was my first clue I'd lost weight!! I was about a month out and for the life of me could not tell I'd lost an oz. I went out shopping and walked right out of my shoes. It was so bad I had to buy a new pair right then. I went from a size 11 to a 10. ~Sidney~ Open RNY 10-23-02 down 140+

That was the one thing I could never figure out during my weight loss, I never dropped shoe sizes while dropping clothes sizes. I actually lost all my weight before I finally dropped shoe sizes, I was a ten and am now wearing 8's. Good luck!

Yes...I will be 1 yr out the 31st of this month and I went from wearing a size 8 (8 1/2 in some sandles) back to a 7. It's weird how that happens. (smiles)

Yes, I went from an 8 1/2 wide to an 8 medium as I was losing weight. It did create another expense. New shoes all around.
