Question:
What's an endoscopy? What is the most uncomfortable pretest?

I did not have to have the endoscopy, but I did have an upper GI which
wasn't bad except for the stuff they have you drink. Yuk! Like trying to
drink half mixed paste and nasty tasting too. Good luck!

An endoscopy is when the Dr. puts a camera down your throat to have a look
around. I slept through mine, but the nurse said I put up one hell of a
fight..lol I also had a colonoscopy, at the same time...I woke up 3
times...so that one gets my vote. But if I had slept through it, then no
problem. Good luck

My most uncomfortable test was the blood test. I have small veins, so they
use a pediatric needle. But still, they had to poke a few times. All the
other tests were a piece of cake.

I had my endoscopy on wednesday. It wasn't horrible, but not something I
would elect to do again! The doctor sprays your throat with this awful
tasting stuff to numb your throat. Then you get a shot of something that
pputs you into lala land for a bit. I remember having a hard time
swallowing the scope (the thing they use to see into your stomach and
stuff) and they kept saying "Swallow Denise, swallow!" I remember
coughing the scope back up and being done with it! Your throat may hurt a
bit afterwards but all in all it isn't terrible. Hope this helps.

I had an endoscopy 4 years ago before having my gall bladder removed. They
sprayed the bitter stuff to numb my throat and then gave me something that
made me not remember what happened and thank GOD it worked! It's called
'conscious sedation' and they had me swallow the scope and move around but
I have no recollection of it whatsoever! My throat was a bit sore afterward
but nothing that some Motrin won't help. Good luck!

I had an endoscopy 2 weeks ago and after the spraying of the mouth I dont
really remember the test at all. Afterwards, I kept giggling and laughing
all day, felt so good I might want to repeat that test!!!
