Has anyone been approved in the past month or so from kaiser.

Has anyone been approved in the past month or so from kaiser with out taking their nutrition class. I heard that recently they quit requiring you to take it. I need to know from someone who knows.also need to know if the doctor schedules your psh. eval or do you make your own appt. to do so.    — [Anonymous] (posted on April 2, 2001)

Hi,I haven't been approved yet by Kaiser Northern CA, but I do know that your PCP makes the referral to the doctor for the psych evaluation. My evaluation is actually this Wednesday. Regarding the 10-week Healthy Weight and Lifestyles classes, the dietician I saw told me that they were "going to become a requirement soon" in order to get approved. He is also the head dietician over at So. San Francisco Kaiser (where they do the WLS surgeries), so I think he must know what he's talking about. I WAS APPROVED MAY 30TH 2001. I WAS NOT REQUIRED TO TAKE THE CLASSES.YOUR PCP NEEDS TO SCHEDULE THE PYS EVAL.
