Question:
What is the average response time from United Healthcare POS?
It has been several weeks since my doctor sent in the paperwork and I haven't heard anything. Is this good or bad news? Is this the norm for United Healthcare POS? — [Anonymous] (posted on March 3, 2001)

Hi, I have United Healthcare pos and I called them after 2 weeks. You
really do have to keep on them. Good luck! I'm praying for you.

No.. I would say this is not my experience. My policy always has an answer
within 48 hours. You can look on their website (http://www.uhc.com) for an
answer or give them a call. They were always super helpful with me, and,
again, always had an answer within a day or two. Maybe they didn't receive
the paperwork or something? Give them a call... ---->>

I had an approval in a little over a week. You never know how long will
take with insurance companies. I wouldn't be discouraged yet. Why don't you
just give them a call?

I also have United Health Care and it's been almost 7 weeks
now since my surgeon submitted my paperwork. Originally I
was told that UHC was very quick to respond, and I would hear
by the end of the following week and each week when I checked
I was told that UHC was requesting one more piece of info
from my surgeon. I finally called UNC the past two weeks to
see what was going on and apparantly it depends on who the case
worker is which doesn't make sense to me. All of the UHC case
workers should have the same requirements. It's VERY frustrating!
