Question:
Did anyone else just see Carnie Wilson?
I just finished watching her segment & she looked so beautiful! It is amazing how far she has come since the surgery. Hope some of you got a chance to see it....she is very inspirational. — melmas (posted on January 12, 2001)

Wasn't she fabulous? She looks great, she's in love and she's healthy.
And posing nude for an ad campaign! You go, Carnie! I think Hef has a
bunny tail for you!

Does anyone know if she had to have surgery to remove excess skin?

Actually, she has had two tummy tucks already.
I'm going in on Feb. 1st. and after seeing that segment, I fell much better
about the whole deal.

Dear Anonymous, it is a great gig if you can get it. This is the first time
I've seen Carnie since her WLS, believe it or not. I always seemed to miss
her TV appearances, so I was very inspired and encouraged. But I don't
believe her joy is because she is being paid or promoting herself. I think
she is doing what a lot of us do when we experience such a dramatic change
- she is getting out in public and being seen because her confidence and
energy have gone through the roof. And thank goodness, too. Because if I
hadn't done that Internet search on Carnie in May 2000, I wouldn't be 70
lbs. down now. And my own reality is that the surgery, recovery and
changes in my diet haven't been difficult or tough - in fact, it's been
pretty darn easy for me. It's the best thing I've ever done for myself,
and a great deal of my gratitude goes out to Carnie. We need a
spokesperson for WLS, and Carnie is humble, humorous, gracious and
successful. Good for her!

I, for one, am very glad that she is making this surgery known far and
wide. She is using her celebrity to do this!
I am sure that many obese people are now aware of this life-saving surgery,
due to Carnie. Thanks again, Carnie...
