Question:
May be a silly question, but it's concerning revisions...
I've seen numerous posts about people getting revisions from vbg's to rny's due to staple line disruption or whatever. Has anyone out there at all ever had the vbg just "fixed" if it failed? Can a person have the same surgery twice? If the surgery was good for a long period of time, then something happens, why can't the stomach just be re-stapled? Is it not safe? Or is it that people just want a more trustworthy method the second time around? Just wondering! — [Anonymous] (posted on November 8, 2000)

Just look at it this way: If you had a house made of paper but it held
up for an awfully long time before collapsing...and along came a house of
brick to replace it, would you still go with the paper house?
I'm just saying that the RNY is far more superior to the old VBG and if
you're go rattling around in there again, why NOT go with brick house
instead of another paper one?!
