Question:
Is there anyone else out there that had this type of surgery ?

I have seen where so many of you had the RNY procedure and I don't hear much from anyone who had the VBG which is what I had done. Is there anyone out there that had this type of wls?    — Marcia S. (posted on September 18, 2000)

I had the VBG in July of 1993. Sometime in 1996 the ring came off and I re-gained almost all the wt I lost. I am now having the Duodenal switch surgery. I found that my old surgeon is, herself, now longer performing the VBG, but is now doing the RNY. That tells me a lot. . .the BVG has the biggest failer rate of all of the WLS. I now have all the side effects of the VBG. . .like not being able to eat meat and still throwing up if I eat too fast, and none of the benefits. Good luck with yours.
