Question:
HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN LEAKAGE OCCURS WHEN YOU ARE HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL

I waited for someone else to answer this one first. My husband had a
post-op leak. He came apart at the stoma-where the intestine connects to
the pouch? Raging fever, mind-numbing pain, sensation of gas, but no
"result", pale & clammy, and he felt like the water he drank
"isn't going in my stomach" and INDEED, it was not. However, in
99% of the cases, this would happen before you got out of the hosptial! He
was a very rare case! And they did reopen and repair him on Day 5 and he
is FINE, FINE, FINE now.
