Question:
Hydoxycut Ephedra-Free...can we use it Post-Op?

I have lost 135 pounds since 18 July 2003. I am still floating between 195 and 185...it goes up and down between those numbers. I want to get down to around 150 - 145. I am 5'5 and I feel that would be a great weight for me. I have been hungry and craving so badly over the last 3 weeks and have gained weight. I was around 185 and blew back up to 195 in those 3 weeks. However, I also had my menstral cycle during that time. I would like to try Hydroxycut because I know it can help me supprss my appetite and boost my metabolism. What do you think???    — Ce-Ce P. (posted on April 11, 2005)

I hate to sound crass or callous, but if diet pills really worked, wouldn't everyone be thin? It has been my experience that diet pills work short term or to lose vanity pounds (5-8 pounds). When I took diet pills, as soon as I stopped the pills I ballooned back up and usually gained more weight than I originally lost. I do wish you success in losing the additional weight you want to lose. :-)

CeCe, I could not view your profile because there isn't any. It would be helpful if you made it available. Try taking a good long look at your eating, drinking habits, exercise and just general lifestyle. Are you following your diet like you should? Not drinking with your meals and waiting the allotted time before and after? Are you eating too many carbs? Carbs can trigger your appetite or what you would preceive as your appetite. What about your exercise, is it what it should be? Also, consider that maybe all you have now is excess skin and any amount of dieting will not loose that, it needs to be cut off. As far as your metabolism, exercise will do that and try getting a lot of protein and water into your diet. Shake up your exercise and do other things, intense one day and then do something else another day. I would not use a diet aid like a diet pill, do not become dependant on something like that. My understanding is that once you start them you have to stay on them. Also, when you lack the correct amount of water in your diet when you go back to drinking a lot of it your body will retain it and it goes to the intestinal track for the waste process. So, you may just be retaining water for that reason. Up your water consumption big time and see if that helps. That are all the tips I can think of. Good luck.

I totally think just because you have wls, it's not brain surgery. The "problem" still lingers. I don't have a problem with a short term use of something to help over the rough spots. My opinion. I do agree that carbs can set the ball rolling so I maintain on Atkin's most of the time. Best of luck!
