Question:
Why does scar tissue form on some but not all?

I am pre-op. I had back surgery a few years back and devloped scar tissue which has disabled me. Is it likely I will get it with the gastric bypass?    — Hippie Chick D. (posted on April 5, 2005)

Everyone that has any surgery gets scar tissue. Some never know they have it unless they are opened up for another reason. Some do have problems. Because of scar tissue, my rny took over five and a half hours, when I had surgery again in Feb, I had a lot of scar tissue again.
