Question:
Does Fed BC/BS cover a staple line disruption?

Ok - 2.5 years out. Was 100lbs overweight, lost the 100lbs. Proximal RNY. Gained back 30lbs. I want to get a scope to see if this is the reason for my weight gain, but my BMI is still not over 30. Would Fed BC/BS cover surgery if I do in fact have a staple line disruption?    — jengrz (posted on February 8, 2005)

Hi, BCBS FEP will pay for your staple line disruption. When the surgeon submits for your authorization, you need to send a copy of your Upper GI showing the disruption. I work for my surgeon doing all of his approvals and have had a few with BS Federal get approved for a revision. Mandy
