Question:
I am 10 weeks and 1 day pregnant and my sugars are dropping, any advice?
I am 15 months postop and found out that I am pregnant. My sugars have been dropping below 60 and I am trying to eat as much as I can. I have found myself eating at least every 2 hours-something light of course. I think this may help, but the early morning hours is when I am having the problem. Suggestions please? — lphillips001 (posted on November 30, 2004)

push protein even if it takes drinking several protein shakes a day in
addition to your food. NO sugar! while you may think it will bring yor
sugars up , it will, but only temporarily, then they will crash even
further. Eat frequent high protein meals. eating every 2 hours is great,
but make it substantial, some meat, fish, chicken every time. Your body
needs fuel for you and your growing baby. put a protein bar next to the bed
and eat if if you start feeling low in the early morning hours. I know it
is hard to contemplate weight gain, but it will be necessary at this time
in life. good luck and Huggs to you and your litle one!!!!

hello, I am now 19 weeks pregnate, and the baby is doing just fine as a
matter of fact He is bigger then what he should be right now... word of
advice my dr. said not to drink the Protien shakes since they make us lose
weight but try ensure or carnation instant breakfast due to them having the
vitamins that your body needs right now. I am almost 2 years out in Jan.
and I stopped losing weight up until I found out that I was pregnate and
boom I lost 6 lbs that was due to all of the morning sickness.. Just be
very careful I havent gained any weight as of yet but my dr's are not to
worried because the baby is doing very well at this point. I will keep you
in my prayers because this time in your life is very special and you need
the best care possible for you and your little one. God bless...
