Question:
Is anyone else having difficulty with water-weight?
I am now 14 weeks post-op, (had Open RNY on May 20, 2004)and have lost only 43 lbs...before you ask, yes - I am drinking all my water, excercising daily, and making good food choices....my problem is with serious edema - I think this may be slowing me down. Some days my ankles are so swollen, they look like tree trunks! Fingers and face puffy too. Yesterday, I started lasix (diuretic), and I lost 6 lbs overnight! This problem with water-weight gain seems to be chronic with me....is anyone else having slow weight loss along with this particular symptom? If so, what did you do to address it? "Puffy" — Lesli W. When you say youi are drinking all your water, do you mean 64oz? If you go
to the Brita website, you can see how much your body needs based on 1)
being on a weight loss plan 2) exercising 3) being overweight 4) recently
having surgery.
64 oz actually isn't enough for most people.
Don't know if this is why you are retaining H2O.
