Question:
today I swalled a cherry pit...
I know pretty stupid considering I am 2 1/2 years out. I was wondering if anyone else has done this, did you have any problems and if you did how long did it take to show up. I am now swearing off cherries. Thanks — domestic G. (posted on July 12, 2004)

At so long out, and a small item it should pass fine. I did that myself at
about a year out. Most of us can take even horse pill sized items. I
wouldnt worry about it.

I would have worried if you were a new post-op but at your stage, a little
pit should pass right thru. I've swallowed bigger bites than I intended on
more than 1 occasion with no problems, reassuring me that the opening is
larger than first suspected.

Thanks everyone...I was really scared yesterday when I did this. I was
working at a renaissance faire talking and eating cherries, I met to spit
out the pit and swallow the cherry, I didn't. I had a feeling it wouldn't
be a problem I just needed to hear from others who had done this, and I
thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I'll have to tell this story on myself to show how much we all worry
needlessly sometimes. When I was about 6 weeks out, I had a horrible sore
throat and my hubby had gottem me some sugar free hall's cough drops to
ease my sore throat. About the second day I had tried one, I took a big
suck on the one on my mouth and it was so slick, it slid right down my
throat before I could catch it. I panicked BIG TIME--until it dawned on me
that it would dissolve. (red face)
