Question:
Who much weight should be off at 2 months post-op
I had my open gyn 12/3/03. when I went to the Doctor at 2 weeks he told me I was doing good. But it was to soon to tell if I'm on track. I don't go back to him for another month. I have lost about 42 lbs. My BMI was 50 and I'm 47 years old. If anyone knows if I'm on track please let me know. — Debra M. (posted on February 4, 2004)

Here is the link from our website -- it's a weight planner. You will need
to use your starting weight, height and amount of excess fat you want to
loose (it's a % and typical I think is 65% it is:
http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/postopplanner.phtml -- good luck.
If the above link doesn't work, go to the home page, go to the the BMI
calculator and there is a "buttom" for weight planner. I printed
mine off and use as a reference. So far, IMHO, you are doing GREAT!! keep
up the great work!

Sounds like you are on track to me. I had an open rny on December 8 and
have lost 37 lbs. And that includes the 11 pounds that I lost while I was
on the liquid diet that my doctor required me to be on 2 weeks prior to
surgery. You have actually lost it faster than me. I am somewhat glad it
isn't coming off superfast because that may help with skin issues.

You are at the very high range of loss. Average low is 27 pounds.

my surgery was also 12/3/03, my bmi was 55, i have lost 53lbs., i couldn't
be more pleased, weightloss varies for everyone, just know that if you
follow the rules , the weight will come off, some slow, some fast, but you
will make it to goal if you work hard.

Debra, I'm 2 days ahead of you and down 47-50 (I also take a synthetic
hormone, which speeds my weight lost just a little - due to thyroid
dysfunction) so I think you must be on track, however I'm sure you know you
should not get too caught up in comparisons. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY!

You are at the same place I am, I had surgery Dec 4, and am down 40.5 lbs.
(my starting BMI was 48.8 and I am 35 years old) Some people lose faster
and some slower, you'll drive yourself crazy if you compare yourself to the
fast losers.

I would say you're on track. I had surgery on the 3rd as well and I''ve
lost 39 pounds.
