Question:
Has anyone had a total body contour after wls? Did insurance pay?

I have had chronic backache for the past 2 months. My bariatric surgeons says this is due to the skin sag on my abdomen. Has anyone has success with insurance paying for an abdominoplasty and thigh lift? I have Aetna.    — scrappenmom (posted on February 3, 2004)

I have Anthem and they paid for my abdominoplasty but denied my thigh lift as being cosmetic. Pictures truly work when you are having a review done by an insurance company. I also submitted my own letter of problems along with the letter from the plastic surgeon's letter of medical necessity. I truly didn't expect the insurance company to pay for the thigh lift but I'm thrilled that they paid for the abdominoplasty.
