Question:
Weightwatchers Online vs. South Beach Diet Online
For the past year I have subscribed to the WeightWatchers.com site. I have used it for tracking, support and to get back on track if things are falling off. Recently my mother decided to go on the South Beach Diet and I am considering changing my membership from WeightWatchers to the South Beach website. Has anyone joined the South Beach one, have you found it worth it? I am currently 7 months post op and down 100 pounds and loving every moment of it. — Cindy M. (posted on January 12, 2004)

I have not signed up for the site yet, but my husband and I started
following the diet exactly for one week, (I'm 15 months out, and had not
loss since Oct.)at the one week point we each have loss 6 pounds. It is
eating like my doctor wants us to eat so I'm happy with it. It just
provides me with more interesting recipes. Good luck

My husband is on the diet at the recommendation of his physician and he is
losing well. It seems like it would be better for us post ops because it
eliminates simple carbohydrates like sugar and white bread. He is really
liking it and it is easier and healthier than Atkins.

I hated weight watchers and all the counting points etc. I just got the
south beach diet book and 2 cookbooks from www.amazon.com 500 low carb
recipes and 15 minute low carb recipes. by Dana Carbender. I personally am
looking for balance rather than specifically low carb, I eat carbs, fruit
& veggies etc. I do believe that simple carbs like white flour , sugar
etc should not be in my diet. However, being less than perfect they do get
in here and there. I think the South beach plan looks very livable, I
personally wouldn't do the 2 week first phase, I am not actively trying to
lose more. I just want to maintain where I am.
