Question:
Several have told me that I will need a recliner to sleep in after
double hernia repair and Panniculectomy on 1/26. I plan to rent one from RTO. Does anyone know if these are sanitary? I don't want to risk infection. It is a power one that won't jerk me and I can sleep in it. Also does anyone know why my ring finger turns black when I wear my very good quality diamond ring? Someone told me low iron but another said high acid in my body? I am afraid I will have low iron and not be able to have my surgery. I have preop tests on Tuesday. One more question: What kind of pain relief did you have? I am having Percocet. Will this handle the pain? Thanks guys!! — Mylou52 (posted on January 11, 2004)

I'm 13 days post op Lower Body Lift and I could NOT have made it without my
electric recliner. I had no idea what a Godsend it was going to be. I
rented mine ($175/month) from a local medical supply house. It happens to
be cloth and not leather and only rented once prior to me so I got lucky
but they did assure me that they have ways of sanitizing to high standards
between rentals. As for meds, I'm rather hard when it comes to pain
management and had to have a cocktail of oxycodone, percocet, vicodin and
xanax to take the edge off once I was home. I've weaned down to just
tylenol now and I'm betting Percocet will work just fine for you. Best of
luck!

I suppose it might have been easier, but I didn't use a recliner.. and I
had the same surgery with muscle tightening... really TIGHT... percocet
gave me nightmares.. I think its the caffeine... I went to tylenol 3... I
don't know about your rings.. good luck.. you'll be very happy with the
result...

I live in a highly populated area and was going to rent from the same place
- I changed my mine - I found the furniture VERY UNSANITARY - the sales
person did not even care about the flith that was obvious on the cloth
furniture. If you must try to get one that is leather or vinyl - I have a
huge over size king bed I purchased 4 sets of super sized king pillows and
a wedge and I was fine - but you ultimately should decide of course.
