Question:
Is there a guide that shows what weight loss is
I am 41/2 months post-op and down about 100 pounds or so. I am trying to figure out if that is on target or not and wondered if there is a chart or guide showing standard losses broken down by time periods. — Adena W. (posted on December 8, 2003)

If you go to the section on how to calculate your BMI, you will also find a
second section to figure out your loss per month. I put in my height,
weight at day of surgery, and the percentage of excess weight I hope to
lose, which is 100% (the guide says to expect to lose about 60-70% from
this surgery but I am confident I can lose all of it). The chart showed me
mth x mth what I should be at for weight and so far it has been pretty
close to target (though I have lost a little more than what it said, it is
still close). I would suggest you try that section of this site. Good luck
and God Bless.

Here is an excellent link:
http://www.thinnerself.com/files/Expect_Chart.htm
just put in your own info. and select create a report. It will then show
you where you are! Good Luck

I dunno. Those online calculators seem to make everyone feel like they are
a slow loser. I'll tell you 1 thing, 100 pounds in 4.5 months is well
above average.

Don't make the mistake of comparing yourself to others, hun. It will only
frustrate you as you go along, now is the time to work on you. Do your
best and what feels right for YOU and you will be fine. Becky 10/01
