Question:
Did anyone's feet get smaller?
I used to be a 10, then a 10W, now I'm an 11W. I'd love the think I might get back to a 10 (selection ain't so hot for 11W's!). — ScottieB86 (posted on December 2, 2003)

I remember the first time I lost over 50lbs with diet and exercise I went
from a 8 1/2-9W to a regular 8. 7 1/2 in tennis shoes. Yes, your feet will
shrink back to normal size once you lose...it's amazing how your body will
adapt to whatever you do to it. I guess our feet swell up so we can keep
our balance better the bigger we get...lol Awaiting consult
1/06/04...finally next month after a whole year!!!

My shoe size went from a 8 1/2 - 9 to a size 7 1/2 - 8. It really is nice
to have the swelling gone from my feet and ankles.

I am curious how your feet can shrink in length - I do not get that. I can
understand the width but the length? Your bones do not shrink. Because of
my added weight I flattened my arches are you telling me that my arches
will go back to the natural arch that they had before? I would really like
to get a professional opinion on that. Is there anyone out there that has a
contact with a poditrist that can ask that question?

I was a size 10 pre-op and am still a 10, now. I did however, have to get
rid of a lot of shoes that were stretched out from my pre-op days.

Not only did I go from a shoe size of 8.5 to 7.5 I also shrunk in height.
I was 5'5.5" at my consult and now 5 months postop I am 5'5".

Tee Hee . . . . If I get any shorter I'm in trouble . . . I'm only 5' tall!
And my poor feet. I'm a 6 (no wonder they hurt all the time!) and those
size six's are gettin' big. Anyone sell a 5 1/2 anymore????

Yes, my feet have gone from a size 8 1/2 down to a 7 and the 7's are
feeling like they are getting loose. I used to wear a 5 1/2-6 before I had
children. I dont think they will shrink back to that small again....but I
love having my smaller feet back!

Don't know the why of it, just know that I went from 9-9/12 very wide to
7/12-8 narrow. Some shoes just don't come narrow enough, Even some that
lace-up I can't get tight enough. Aw, Gee---I've had to buy new shoes!!!!
What a disaster, Yeah, right---only for DH who never did get the idea that
I need at least 4 pairs of black shoes, for each season. My only real gripe
is that socks that already have the heel formed just don't fot right. The
heel is always up by my ankle. Oh, well---small sacrifice! I have
"bones" in my feet, way cool!
