and -128 lbs with 95 still to go. I get discouraged too but you will get
there. I think you are doing great.

Hi Tia, im 7 months pot-op and im down -75lbs. I feel like im losing slow,
starting at 260lbs. Your doing fine, just continue on your eating habits
and water intake. Losing slow is good, less saggy skin. It will come off
eventually Good Luck

Hi Tia, I too feel like I am a slow loser. I started out at 284 and now 4
months post-op I weigh 220. So 64lbs. in 4 months seems really slow to me
but my doctor says I am doing great and losing slow helps the excess skin
draw up. Trust me, I just noticed the hanging skin about 2 weeks ago and
ANYTHING that will help that is o.k with me! Good Luck! Your doing great!

I was the slowest loser in my suport group. But you know, I still got
there. Have weighed right about 110 for years & years now. As long as
it keeps moving, well, it keeps moving. Steady is worth more than speed.
And steady is measured monthly, not daily or weekly.

Hi, I was a lightweight also. I had my surgery on Feb 10, 2003. I lost
about 31 pounds in the first two months. However, I have been consistently
losing 10 pounds every month. I discovered I actually have a small frame
and am waiting to see where my body decided to stop losing - I already
passed my doctor's goal for me and then my goal a month later. So, it's now
where you start but where you finish.
Good luck on your journey.

Hi, I am also a lightweight (HAHA). I had my surgery on 7/1/03. At six
weeks I had lost 25lbs.I am now at 13 weeks with a loss of 39lbs.I started
to let this get me down a few weeks ago but I decided never again. I am two
sizes smaller in clothes and can now shop at all the stores in the mall. I
am working out at Curves and enjoying be more active. Be happy with what
you have accomplished, soon you will be able to say you are half way to
goal.Other's may be able to say they have lost large amounts of weight fast
but will they be able to say they are half way to their goal weight. I
think not.Be happy and keep a positive attitude you will cross the finish
line.

Hey Tia - You must remember that this isn't dieting anymore! This is not
something that you'll be doing for a few weeks and then go back to the way
things were - this is a total life change. You WILL lose the weight, but
it'll happen in it's own time. Just go about your day everyday and don't
stay addicted to the scale. I used to weigh myself everyday and it would
drive me crazy. Throw it in the closet and forget about it for a while.
You're going to do great! Just be patient, although I know it's tough to
do that. I wish you well. - Mike

I am also about 6 weeks out with only 31 lbs lost with a majority in the
first 3 weeks. I had a relapse and gained weight BACK in the hospital which
was dissappointing to say the least especially when after that the scales
stopped. Finally I got it in my head that a loss is a loss and became even
more determined and low and behold the scales moved today. I started at
271/5ft 8 in and am not down to 240. Just keep up the great work and it
will happen in time!

Kathy, I like that! "It's not where you start, but where you
finish!" We all end up on the same road! Tia, don't get discouraged.
The 'lightweights' tend to lose, in a more dynamic way, inches over scale
weight.
